Marking Period 1
In this marking period we began to learn how to use SketchUp and we began our gardening projects (we needed to design an irrigation system for our school garden). We were learning how to use SketchUp in order to help us with our irrigation designs. SketchUp is a program that you can download on the computer and it's a great tool for modeling dimensions, creating designs, and all that stuff due to all the features it gives you.
Marking Period 2
In this marking period we continued to use SketchUp and we began coding on Codesters, which is a site that provided you coding tutorials to help you understand different parts of a code and how to write code (it wasn't as much "write code" as it was "drag-and-drop"). I also joined the Girls Who Code club because reading a book where one of the main characters was an expert hacker and coder made me want to learn code (not that easy and I was trying hard not to lose my motivation).
Marking Period 3
For the third marking period, we were still working on SketchUp but because of all the tests and breaks and school events we didn't have computers class as often. We were assigned more lessons to do on Everfi (Radius and Future Goals) as well as more Codesters and code.org assignments (I mentioned code.org in my sixth grade computers page). We also went on several field trips (because I was part of Girls Who Code - the technology class never goes on field trips unless the you're part of a club run by the teacher, like the gardening or coding clubs). Radius was also due in this marking period.
Marking Period 4
In this marking period we were still doing our SketchUp thing and Future Goals was due in this marking period as well. The teacher's also going to check our portfolio websites (AKA this website) which is why I'm freaking out about updating it.
