Marking Period 1
For the first marking period, we were learning about mutations in organisms, single and multi-cellular organisms and how they operate, and the chromosomes in our body. We were also learning about genes and Punnet squares. We made a Critter project poster with a fellow classmate to help us see the changes between each generation of critters, and then we created a creature feature project on our own (the animal we chose to use can be made up or real) to help us learn more about mutations, genes, and chromosomes.
Marking Period 2
For the second marking period, we were continuing to learn about mutations but we also began to learn about how the environment affects the prey, predators, appearances, and behaviors of animals. We started to learn about evolution and we were given a PowerPoint Project to do about an animal of our choosing. We had to write about its ancestors and how the environment of the animal changed, which would lead to the reasons why mutations occurred and the animals evolved. Below is my project.
*The last few slides here are a little messed up. The sources go off the page. I have much difficulties uploading things that require a more professional format.

Marking Period 3
For the third marking period, we were doing a mini-project about heart rates before mid-winter break. After winter break, we started going into chemistry and did an experiment on mixing two chemicals to figure out which ones made up the "mystery mixture". We didn't study this for long though. After we finished the unit, we started doing our long-term science projects (which aren't due until late April or early May) and we started an experiment about which mediums are best for plants (specifically, sunflowers).
All the sunflowers ended up dying though, except for a few groups in the entire seventh grade. Ours died too, so the experiment was pretty much a failure.

Marking Period 4
For the fourth marking period, the long-term science projects (or ongoing science projects/OSI, as our teacher likes to call it) were due. We presented it on a poster board, but I can't show that to you because I don't have a good camera and the poster board is quite big. However, I can show you our next project, which was to create a human body systems book that explained what the systems of the body were. I can never seem to upload things properly here. It looks good when I save it on Microsoft, but here it gets messed up pretty badly... Yeah. Look at how messed up the entire thing is. I'm not going to bother with fixing it, because I know that something else is going to happen if I try to.
