Marking Period 1
In the first marking period, we began to read a Spanish book titled Las Aventuras de Isabela (or something along those lines - "The Adventures of Isabela") and we took several quizzes about the chapters as we read through them. We didn't finish reading the entire thing in this marking period.
Marking Period 2
In the second marking period we finished reading the book and we began learning about the professions afterwards. We also had a spelling test about the professions. We had to write our own adventure story based off of the book and create a project - I made a book (and I had to draw all the pictures - they're rather childish). We also had a major unit test that practically everyone failed (I'm happy to say that I believe I just barely managed to pass - thank goodness!). That test was very difficult and I probably need to study more. We also learned about direct and indirect pronouns.
Marking Period 3
In this marking period we had practice on speaking Spanish (especially in four categories that would appear on the Spanish Proficiency Test: Socializing, Obtaining and Providing Information, Feelings, and Persuasion) and we got a bunch of note packets to help us. We learned a few more verbs and words and we also practiced our writing and grammar.
Marking Period 4
This is the testing marking period, seriously! Many of us have already taken the oral test (we had a one-on-one conversation with the teacher in Spanish, using the four categories listed before) and in June there'll be the written exam - the oral test actually didn't turn out as difficult as I thought it would, but I'm not too sure about the written portion.
